Pune airport shared cab: fares to Hinjewadi, Kharadi, Wakad and more

Pune airport is in Lohegaon, on the city's north-east edge, so the west side is 20 to 30 km away. At the RTA's approved rate, a cab to Hinjewadi Phase 1 is about ₹575; shared by four, about ₹144 each. Here's the fare to each part of the city, split 2 to 4 ways, and how to find people to share with.

Checked on 31 October 2026. Fares use the rates Pune's Regional Transport Authority (RTA) approved, worked out from road distances rounded to the nearest km. Apps can charge less when demand is low and up to 1.5 times more at peak, and their route can be a little longer than the shortest road. The price the app shows when you book is the one that counts.

How the fare is worked out

Since 1 May 2025, app cabs (Ola, Uber, Rapido) in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Baramati are meant to charge the RTA's approved rate: ₹37 for the first 1.5 km and ₹25 for each km after that. The RTO has since sent Uber a notice for not following it, so compare what your app shows.

Autos got new fares on 1 September 2026: ₹30 for the first 1.5 km and ₹20 a km after that. An auto takes up to three people and costs about a fifth less than a cab over the same distance.

Quick estimate. Cab: ₹37 + (km − 1.5) × ₹25. Auto: ₹30 + (km − 1.5) × ₹20.

A 20 km cab ride: ₹37 + 18.5 × ₹25 = about ₹500, or ₹125 each when four share.

Three of you or fewer? An auto

With light bags, an auto is about 20% cheaper and takes up to three people.

Arriving: sharing from the airport

  • The people on your flight are going your way. Many of them are heading to the same part of town at the same moment, which makes arrivals one of the easiest trips to share.
  • Meet at the app-cab pickup point the apps send you to, and agree on one spot there, like a pillar or gate number.
  • Luggage decides the car. Four people with big suitcases need an SUV, which costs more per km; agree on the car before you book.
  • Book once everyone is out, so nobody pays the driver's waiting charges while bags come off the belt.

Leaving: sharing to the airport

  • Meet at one point near home, on a main road, and leave together.
  • Plan the ride the day before so others flying around the same time can find it.
  • Leave a little earlier than you would alone, to allow for the meeting stop.
  • Agree how long you'll wait for someone who's late, five minutes say, before anyone sets off.

Splitting when drops differ

From the airport, drops on the way come first. Split by the distance each person rides:

Example. A cab from the airport to Kothrud costs ₹400. Aditi rides all the way, about 16 km. Rohan gets off on the way at Shivajinagar, about 11 km. Together they ride 16 + 11 = 27 km.

  • Aditi: 16 of 27 km → ₹237
  • Rohan: 11 of 27 km → ₹163

Alone, Aditi would have paid ₹400 and Rohan ₹275.

More ways to split are in how to split a cab fare fairly.

Stay safe

Meet at a busy public spot, share the trip's live location with someone, and check the cab's number before you get in. Our guide to sharing a cab with strangers safely has the full checklist.

How Sobat helps

Search from the airport to your area and Sobat shows rides already going that way, or start your own: everyone landing and searching that route sees it at once. If nothing leaves at your time, Sobat shows rides a little earlier or later. In the ride room you tap "I'm here" at the meeting point, see who has arrived, chat, and see each person's share in rupees. Women can choose women-only rides. You book the cab yourselves and settle by UPI; Sobat is free and never handles the money.
